On July 4th, the Orquesta Filarmónica del Café - Comfamiliar Risaralda, under the baton of Mattius Felipe Rodríguez Buitrago and with guest soloist Anyango Yarbo - Davenport, will present its third concert of the 2024 season with the Beethoven Gala, a unique and unparalleled journey through the music of German composer Ludwig Van Beethoven.

Soloist: Anyango Yarbo-Davenport
Born and raised in Munich, Germany, violinist Anyango Yarbo-Davenport was born into a musical family, the daughter of American soprano Africa Yarbo-Davenport and the late Austrian conductor Hans Peter Jillich. She regularly performs at prominent venues such as Carnegie Hall, the Kennedy Center, the Royal Festival Hall in London, the Teatro Mayor in Bogotá, the Mozarteum Saal in Salzburg, and the Teatro Colón.
Earned her doctorate at the Eastman School of Music (New York), where she received the coveted Performer's Certificate and served as a teaching assistant to her mentor Charles Castleman. She received her initial training at the Musik Hochschule Munich (Germany), the University "Mozarteum" Salzburg (Austria), with additional studies at the Sibelius Academy in Helsinki (Finland) with Paivyt Meller.
Is a professor and coordinator of violin and chamber music at the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana in Bogotá (Colombia). She previously served as a faculty member at the Universidad de Los Andes and at the summer music institutes of Virginia Commonwealth University and the University of North Texas.
Conductor: Mattius Felipe Rodríguez Buitrago - Colombia
A graduate of the University of Caldas with a background in orchestral conducting, cello, pedagogy, and administrative management. He has experience in leadership roles, as an instrumentalist, teacher, and administrator in various musical groups and processes; skills in cultural project formulation and development, strategic direction, program coordination, and event logistics.
He has participated in various events as a conductor and instrumentalist, including the XI Alfredo De Saint Malo International Music Festival in Panama City, the OSTWEST MUSIKFEST with concerts, participation in the Camerata Vienna, masterclasses, and visits to the Salzburg Festival, the 42nd version of the Mono Núñez Colombian Andean Music Festival, the XII University Instrumental Music Festival organized by UPB in Bucaramanga, the III International Symphony Strings Academy in Pereira, participation in the II Symphonic Meeting with the Antioquia Symphony Orchestra and the Tchaikovsky Conservatory.
He is currently the co-founding director, administrative manager, and workshop leader of the Orquesta Filarmónica Juvenil del Café, and also serves as an Arts and Crafts teacher in the fields of cello and bowed strings in the Culture Area of Comfamiliar Risaralda.
