The Orquesta Filarmónica del Café and the Coro Sinfónico de la Universidad Tecnológica de Pereira, under the baton of guest conductor Gorka Sierra, will open their 2024 season with the sacred music concert "Música para la reconciliación" (Music for Reconciliation), a show where the characteristic sounds of tango are combined with Basque and Spanish music.
The concert will take place on March 26th at 7:00 p.m. at the Teatro Santiago Londoño in the city of Pereira. In addition, it will kick off the celebration of the 20th anniversary of the artistic activities of the Coro Sinfónico de la UTP, directed by the professors of the Music Licentiate program Julio Alberto Mejía and Juan Felipe Ríos as director and co-director respectively, and Diana Patricia Salazar Torres as piano accompanist.

For the first time in the city and the region, the symphonic choral work 'Misatango', also known as 'Misa a Buenos Aires', will be performed, accompanied by the composer Martín Palmeri, who will be playing the piano with the Orquesta Filarmónica del Café and the Coro Sinfónico de la UTP, which is celebrating its 20th anniversary of artistic activities.
This work, in which sacred music is complemented by the harmonic rhythms of tango, was composed in 1996 and was first performed by the Orquesta Sinfónica Nacional de Cuba. It also opened the International Festival of Music and Sacred Art in Rome, Italy.

He began his musical studies at a very young age in Bilbao. He perfected his knowledge of the organ together with the direction of choirs and orchestras in countries such as Italy, France and Germany.
Throughout his career he has been a guest soloist with orchestras such as the Bilbao Symphony Orchestra and the Paris Orchestra, where he has given concerts in different countries of Europe, America and Africa. He was also artistic director of the Bilbao Philarmonia Orchestra and titular director of the Coral Carmina de Barcelona.
